Fun Lunch Box Idea: Easter Bunnies!

April 3, 2013 by Caroline Job 5 Comments

Today we’re sharing the fun lunch box idea Easter Bunnies! Yes, we are still on Easter! Before I forget “Happy Easter to you all!”
I hope you all are managing a really good break? Not too much chocolate I hope?
With the kids off for some time now, we’ve got to find ways of keeping them amused, busy, positive and if we can, encourage them to get creating!
I don’t feel this year we have had the gentle run-up to Easter like we normally have. So alot of the baking was done either last weekend or now, on the Easter weekend. But you know what there is always a good time to make Easter bunnies!  So here we go…

Fun Lunch Box Idea – Easter Bunnies – now I am sure you’ll agree that these cute bunnies will never look out of place in a lunch box, and they’re really easy to make, honest!

So whether you have a toddler or a much bigger little person, these are sure to be a winner!

This cute little recipe idea is all thanks to a twitter shout – the power of social media! I stumbled across these beauties and was very kindly sent the recipe.
The only tricky part is making sure the Easter bunnies remain standing up in the oven, as some did slide over and lie down!

So who’s going to give these a try?
When I originally created this post, I got the boys: 10 year old King Julien and 12 year old Spike involved! It is a great opportunity to start kids baking! They’ll soon pick up the baking bug!

This fun lunch box idea easter bunnies recipe is really quick and simple. You can also use part of the cookie mix to make other cookie shapes.

You will need:
120g unsalted butter
150g flour
2-3 tbsp sugar
few drops vanilla essence

Method:
Simply combine all the ingredients together.
Knead the dough and make into small walnut sized balls.
Use a pair of scissors to snip the ears, make the eyes with a cocktail stick.
Line them up on a lined baking sheet. Be sure to leave space between them as they do spread out in the oven.
Bake at 180C for 15-20 minutes, depending on your oven. Keep an eye on them!
Would hate them to get too hot and burn in the oven!
Place on a cooling tray to cool.
Then they’re ready to eat!

Let me know how you get on!

Hi Kate thanks for stopping by! D'you think your kids would appreciate them? You could just make them into walnut balls, and then flatten them down with the middle three fingers! Perfect mini cookies anytime! x
