Did you catch me on the radio this morning? Lunchbox World in the press, talking grab and go culture and the state of school dinners / school lunch on the Matthew Wright show on LBC today?
My message is getting out there! This week I am in the i-paper with a supermarket swap article and today on LBC radio with Matthew Wright.
For those new to Lunchbox World and who have just heard about me, I am the lunch box lady, hello!
I have been packing lunch boxes and been obsessing on packed lunch boxes since my kids were little in 2009. I have grown up kids now and have lived through all those phases and stages as the kids grow up. And they are full testament to my methods working. And I am here to help you, or anyone you know who is struggling with those daily food battles, that constant grind of pushback from the kids when it comes to food, to packing lunch for school or tackling school dinner choices. I am here to help share everything I have learnt with my 3 kids. I am that easy button, a resource for you to tap innto, whether you are on youtube, on instagram, on tiktok, on facebook, or you want to sign up to the newsletter and read when you have time…
I am here to help equip you and give you the secrets that worked with my 3 kids and I believe will still work today.
We have a 2 million year old brain. Kids are not really different now than they were when my kids were little. There are greater challenges, different challenges but fundamentally our goal is to help set up the kids to go out into the big wide world when they are 18/21…
The battles, the conflict can be relentless. It is all down to how you handle it.
Maybe I was lucky when my kids started out in primary school. They had to have packed lunches. There was no canteen. That room had to give away and become a classroom as the school had had to cater for more and more kids in the area. So I became obsessed on packing lunch boxes and came up with the idea for Lunchbox World and have been sharing lunch box ideas ever since…
My mission is to help overwhelmed parents, (just like I was, with my 3 kids going through school) to reconnect with their kids and their kids with the lunch box, so that we help set them up to be healthy, happy, and thriving in life. The lunch box is a tool, a bit of love, a bit of home that goes into school with our kids.
We all make choices of what to eat, every single meal. We are all responsible for what we put into our bodies. And our kids are at home with us for a relatively short time. Mine are all adults now so the work has to be done right up to when they leave home. It is our responsibility as parents to help guide, help steer our kids so that they live long happy healthy passionate lives, thriving in life. That is what we want for all our kids, right? But life gets in the way… I know, our intentions are there just sometimes it doesn’t quite work out that way. We get persuaded by the big food companies to buy certain things in, the kids see the ads, and we just want a quiet life. So we cave in but then are full of guilt as we can see the bad habits creeping into daily life.
And as the kids get older, it does get harder…
I could talk all day about ways to reconnect with the kids.
If you get a chance to listen to the radio interview, it was on 28 March 0850-0859 – I will see if I can find the replay and share it here from LBC. Such a lovely interview and a great chance to speak to Matthew on the grab and go culture and what we can do to help our kids in school.
I will be launching a FREE masterclass really soon where I share everything. Meanwhile though you can come into my Lunchbox World community and connect to Lunchbox World on youtube, instagram, facebook, the mailing list…
If you want a quick start, a. quick win, I just finished creating my 3 secrets to packing lunch boxes, and I think you will find it helpful.
It does not cost you anything, so I will share the link here to grab the 3 secrets.
Other exciting news, I was in the press this week – in the i-paper with my supermarket swap, when I was looking for all things mini. Find out if I did find those mini pitta pockets… I swapped shopping at Tesco to Aldi – so keep an eye out for the BTS (behind the scenes) trolley dash coming soon on Youtube.
Make sure you are subscribed, as I upload a new video or lunch box idea every week, so there is always new lunch box inspiration from me to help inspire you…
Keep an eye out for Lunchbox World in the press again soon! Here to help you and to help others struggling with staying connected with the kids…
with love
the lunch box lady x
