Pancakes in the Lunch Box

February 28, 2017 by Caroline Job Leave a Comment

Today’s Pancake Day! Yippee! Any excuse to pop pancakes in the lunch box!

Happy Pancake Day everyone by the way! So what kind of pancakes can I put in the lunch box? I mean really? A pancake in the lunch box? Who does that? Well, you may well ask…

Pancakes in the Lunch Box

So what will you put in that lunch box today? A sweet pancake or a savoury one? Or why not both? Start with a savoury starter and then finish off with something sweet, oozing with sheer wickedness, like the image above … Just be sure to separate them out, so the sweet and the savoury don’t mix up together!

Typical Sweet Pancake Toppings:

Below I’ve listed some typical pancake toppings, the sweet ones:

lemon and sugar
honey
maple syrup
nutella
nutella and sliced banana
strawberries and nutella or melted chocolate sauce

Savoury Pancake Toppings:

cheddar cheese and ham cubes
chopped up bacon or lardons with grated Emmental cheese

Or, for something different, why not try the pancake recipes we have in the Lunchbox World recipe section – one’s with delicious sausages, the other’s with tuna….
