Lunch box Festive Treats – Plus new competition starting today!

December 1, 2010 by caroline Leave a Comment

The team have been doing the round up for what’s on offer. We’ve narrowed it down to our top ten favourite treats for your lunch box!

397 The excitement around the office has started! Full of festive cheer, the team put on their thinking caps to come up with a list of possible fun additions to our lunch boxes at this festive time of year!

Now’s the time of year when you can indulge a little, and why not add that special something to your lunch that you take in for work, or prepare for your loved one at school or playgroup! After all, it’s not Christmas every day! So here’s our top ten:

1  Father Christmas Whoopie Pie has to be our number one lunch box treat! Just parcel up carefully to ensure safe transit! Check out our recipe section to grab the recipe!

2  Mincepies are an easy one to pop in your lunch box. Whether you bake them up yourself or leave to Mr Kipling or your local bakery! Just pop them in an airtight container, and into your lunch bag.

We have even come across some delicious TRUfree mince pies in Asda(wheat and gluten free) for those with allergies, so no-one need miss out on a tasty mincepie.

3  Honeybuns Mini Treats are another fun one. Again a bite-sized portion in its own individual wrap, these taste just like Grandmother made them. Plus being gluten-free apart from the Cranberry and Pecan Flapjack, are great if you’ve food allergies. (Enter our competition and you might be lucky and win one of the FOUR tins full of them!) or visitwww.honeybuns.co.uk

4  Dr Oetker has come up trumps if you’ve youngsters at home with their range of special Christmas kits. So why not make up a cookie kit at the weekend as a family activity, then pop them in the lunchbox in the week. It’s sure to bring a smile to their face and bring the kid out in them!

5  CELEBRATIONS®, everyone’s favourite chocolates in miniature, are now available in personalised gift boxes that fit neatly through the letter box, perfect for catching the Christmas post. Personalise with your own message and pictures to let someone special know you’re thinking of them. And for a true endulgence, pop in their lunch box as a total surprise! These can be ordered online at www.Sayitwithcelebrations.co.uk, so there’s no excuse not to treat someone this Christmas.

6  Penn State, the Pretzel Brand has brought out their special edition savoury snacks for the festive season.  Choose from either the Sea Salt and Black Pepper Pretzel Stars, or the Cheddar Cheese Festive Pretzel Mix, if you’re looking for a savoury lunch box treat!

7  Muller has brought out their Muller Christmas Corner yoghurt in strawberry flavour with delicious reindeer shaped biscuits for those wanting a healthier option as a treat! Available in all major supermarkets.

8  Mrs Crimbles Choc Orange Mini Macaroons, available for a limited period only. They are small enough not to be sinful while being yummy enough to feel like a real treat.  Better still, they are made with a gluten free recipe so everyone can enjoy them. Each one turns an ordinary cup of tea or coffee into a moment of heaven…

9  Godiva is to die for. Yes, we had to include a bit of chocolate, but this is just not any chocolate. Visit www.godiva.be to discover this luxurious and exceptional range of Belgian chocolates.  Mmmm!

10  Christmas Lunchbox Recipes – check out the recipe section for more festive and fun-filled lunch box inspiration.

We hope this has given you a flavour for what’s out there, and what you can put in your lunch box! Just remember a treat is a treat as long as you keep it that way. Have a fun and festive month!  And if you have any fun ideas, do post them up on our facebook page, we would love to hear from you!
