What is the portion size of your 5 a day?

portion_sizeEach of the following is considered to be one portion, and the aim is to have five of these a day:

Fruit

1 medium apple

1 handful of grapes

1 medium glass of fruit juice

7 strawberries

3 whole dried apricots

1 medium banana

1 tablespoon of raisins

Vegetable:

2 broccoli florets

3 heaped tablespoons of peas

Other quick and easy ideas for your Five a Day:

Fruit jelly made with fruit pieces and fruit juice

A pack of “Fruit flakes”, see our reviews

Tinned fruit in a pot with a lid

Little portions of raisins, dried apricots, papaya and dried pineapple in a pot

Individual salad in a pot – chopped up carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes, red pepper sticks – all finger foods to nibble on at lunch
