GLORIOUS! Food Adventure

November 30, 2015 by caroline Leave a Comment

Today is the last day of November and we’re talking soup today. Deliciously tasty, heart warming soup. Now, GLORIOUS! Foods has a great range of soups, that I have just discovered. It’s all about the GLORIOUS! Food Adventure they tell me. The journey you encounter when you eat, taste and smell food, you are reminded of so many memories and dreams you have. It is such a powerful thing our sense of taste and smell. And that is exactly GLORIOUS! foods’ mantra – go, have yourself an adventure through food!

Food is such an exciting topic don’t you think? Food Glorious Food!

glorious food adventure

If you’re like me, I just love eating heart warming soup at this time of year for lunch, don’t you? For me, soup restores and revives. Soup warms you through when you are cold to the core. It’s hard to slurp it fast. You just have to take your time…

Being all cosy in a roller neck jumper, thick socks, a fire going if there’s an extra chill in the air. Oven on, baking under way…

It’s my kind of Heaven, just to savour something that’s tasteful and warm, with a chunk of bread. Mmmm.  I like to take my time savouring all the flavours that tantalize my taste buds. The memories these tastes envoke and more… You know, a kind of glorious food adventure you go on in your mind?

Now for me, I just love the colour orange. I love Autumn, I love the Autumn leaves, the yellows, oranges, reds, burgundy shades and browns. It is such a magical time. The other day whilst out on a lunch time walk, with thick coat pulled tight and a lush scarf around my neck, a gentle gust of wind blew at the branches, as I wandered beneath its canopy. Down the country lane I walked, each step a little slower, as I watched the leaves start to flutter down, as the wind was dislodging the leaves from the trees. The leaves fluttered down, just one or two at first, twirling this way and that, then more as the wind carried on blowing. They all came tumbling down, one after the other. If you are lucky, you hope that one leaf might just brush against your cheek, as you stop to watch them flutter down to the ground. Or better still, you might just catch one leaf. Then I stooped to gather a handful of my favourite leaves to bring into the home and create an Autumn display, so I can prolong that moment a little while longer… Nature is so truly amazing, don’t you think?

So it will come as no surprise to you that it has always been on my list of places to visit. To visit New England and see the amazing leaves in Fall. It would make all my dreams come true.

Yes, to see those amazing Autumn leaves in full display, and the sheer mass of colour and shades of colour would be a site for sore eyes! I would take so many photos, gather so many bags of leaves to create lots of interesting Autumn displays… I would fill many memory cards I am sure!

So today I’m trying the New England Butternut squash soup that’s just bringing all those dreams of New England travel and foodie adventure to the front of my mind. How magical would that truly be? (And before you say, but all your photos are with pumpkins – I know but the deadline for the competition is tonight and I just love the mini pumpkins and the colour orange. They capture the essence of Autumn so well in my mind.)

Back to the soup. On pack, the soup is described as a light and smooth butternut squash soup with a hint of warming cumin. Can’t wait… This is one of their skinnylicious soups and I just spotted it has mango chutney in it! The soup counts as one of your 5 a day, is suitable for vegetarians and is gluten free.

And look at that! My favourite takes centre stage! Yeah!

I’m taking part in a competition to win a foodie adventure holiday in Mumbai. I mean wouldn’t that just be sooo fantastic? To go on a food adventure – a food journey through Mumbai, experience a street food tour, sample all the flavours, smell the spices, visit a bustling market and take loads of photos and more? A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! and share all my tales with you here, on the blog. My bag is always half packed for such an adventure! Life is for living!

My husband has visited Mumbai a couple of times on business and tells me I would absolutely love it! He’s put it on our adventure list for a key anniversary milestone that’s coming up soon! Never shy of sampling new things, exotic flavours, adding travel experiences to our repertoire, and seeing the colours at first hand! Wow!

So what GLORIOUS! food adventure would you like to go on? Is there a certain type of food you taste or smell and you’re immediately off down memory lane somewhere, or immediately dreaming of a glorious food adventure you’d love to experience? And while we are on the subject of soup, what is your favourite soup flavour?

We love to hear from you! As always, thanks for reading!
