I think we can all agree that at times we do struggle to achieve our five a day. Most of us think it has to be an actual piece of fruit, or vegetable, in its regular form, but in reality, it can come in many different forms and still count! We just need to think differently, think out of the box a little, and at the same time, think variety. Variety is key!
The Lunchbox World Review Panel took a look a the Dole Fruit and Juice Pots to see if they really stand up. Each 113g Dole pot does actually counts as one portion of fruit, and there are five sumptuous combinations to choose from: Pineapple, Mandarins, Peaches, Tropical Fruit and exotic Sunny Fruits – all in refreshing juice. Available in a convenient pot that can be popped into your bag and enjoyed as a mid-afternoon snack or part of lunch – what could be easier! What’s more, they are fat free and a source of Vitamin C.
These really are a healthier snacking option. And because they don’t need refrigeration, all of Dole’s fruit pots are perfect for packed lunches, picnics, and are a great snack for ‘on the go’. Simply store in a cupboard, no need to keep them in the fridge.
They don’t need to be kept in a fridge. A cupboard is fine. This also means they don’t have to stay chilled in the lunch box! Great all round and count as another one of your 5 a day!
What’s not so good:
Check the label for sugar content and opt for the ones that are in natural juices rather than syrup.
Now over to you. What do you think? Have you tried them? What do you do to increase your 5 a day?
