Time has been flying by hasn’t it? I find myself saying this every term, always the last weeks of term tend to be the busiest with schools wanting parents to attend various events – sports day, achievement and award assemblies etc. And with 3 kids at 3 different schools, I have been definitely running! So would that be acceptable as some form of training?
Hike: One More Week Until We Play!
And so it is, just one more week until we get to play!
The accomodation is all booked. The ferry booked to and from France. Just this last week I took the car for its journey check. We’ve also checked we’ve got European breakdown cover – just to be on the safe side. We are taking the old girl and it is a long drive down and back.
So it’s all been a rush to wear the boots in… they still look very shiny and new don’t they?
… and check out our route, work out ferry times, get all our kit together, ready for the big PLAY!
All that’s left to do is pack, load up the car, secure the roof bars, attach the “rocket” as we call it, and we’ll be off bright and early! With a packed lunch of course to last the journey!
A little nervous, I have to admit but it will be truly an experience. If you’ve been watching the Tour de France today, they were all there for the Annecy-Semnoz stage – all around Lake Annecy, up to La Clusaz and beyond… It is a magical place and I can’t wait to get back there, breathe in the mountain air, hike around the lake and cool off after in the lake…
The kids are all writing their lists of what to take, where they want to go and the food they want us to buy! So we are sure to have a great family time together. Hubbie has been away for such a long time now it’ll be good for us all to get back together and spend a fortnight together, hiking, eating, resting, playing together. That’s what it’s all about right?
So do keep checking back! Lots of updates to follow!

PS We must thank Actimel for helping make it possible for us to hike and PLAY together as a family!
