Lunch box Snacks to help stop those cravings…

March 26, 2011 by caroline Leave a Comment

448Do you sometimes find you crave that snack, that something to nibble and find yourself reaching for the chocolate?

I know I do, although my weakness tends to be crisps for that extra crunch…

Well, here’s some healthier suggestions to pop in your lunch box to help satisfy those cravings:

California Almonds

– rich in monounsaturated fats and cholesterol-free, makes them a deliciously tempting snack option.  Research now shows they may also help maintain a healthy heart.

All you need to know is how to get the perfect portion:  a 30g serving is about 23 almonds. So the next time you feel your energy level drop mid-morning or when you are tempted by an afternoon snack attack. 23 are all you need. Empowering, isn’t it?

If you’re quick, they’re also running a competition to win some.

Diva Popcorn

It’s the UK’s first air-popped flavoured popcorn brand and has just been recommended by Weight Watchers who have given it a ranking of just 2-3 ProPoints per pack.
A ProPoints value of 5 or under can help you enjoy eating between meals and stay on top of your weight loss.
Weight Watchers said: ‘They are a great snack that will fill you up between meals or could be just the ticket to eat with your sandwich at lunch instead of crisps.’

Available flavours: Sweet Chipotle Chilli, Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar and Rock Salt.  For more info, click here

The Fabulous Bakin’ Boys healthy Fruit ‘n Oat slices
– The first ever baked snack containing one portion of fruit in each slice.

The delicious fibre-packed snack bars consist of two layers, with a fruity base crammed with succulent sultanas, apples and apricots, topped with oats and sprinkled with strawberry, blackberry or apple pieces.
Achievin’ a 90 per cent approval rating in taste trials with mums and kids, the family friendly snacks are being hailed as the new lunch-box product.

Modern Milk

A brand new flavoured milk in a handy 330ml carton, available in four delicious flavour combinations to tempt the taste buds: Lush Banana and Honey, Ripe Strawberry and Raspberry, Smooth Coffee with a hint of Vanilla and Milk Chocolate with a hint of Golden Caramel. Modern Milk is the first semi-skimmed dairy product to offer extra calcium (70 per cent of the RDA), and added vitamin D and fibre, ideal for a healthy digestive system. It is low in fat and low in added sugars, and makes a perfect addition to any lunch box. Read our review here

Nuts
