The Challenge – 365 Lunch Box Ideas in 365 Days

January 26, 2012 by Caroline Job Leave a Comment

yes, you read it right. The challenge : 365 lunch box ideas in 365 days, and it’s a big one. But the thing is, I have 3 kids, they need lunch boxes each day. I have been there, you start off with great intentions and pack amazing lunch boxes the first day of term or when they first start at nursery/pre-school or the first day at big school. Maybe when they have smaller appetites, at the start of primary school, in some ways, maybe it’s easier to pack a lunch box. The lunch box size is just perfect for little people up to the end of primary school. But what happens when they hit secondary school? Their appetites increase, they need more to keep them going all day long, or they start grabbing the unhealthy snacks. A quick fix, they call it. But the sad thing is, it is quick but it doesn’t fix the hunger issue. Not really. They then face peer pressure and have access to the canteen in school, where they can grab the most unhealthy of choices.

It is so easy for us to get into a lunch box rut. I read somewhere that it only takes 21 days to form a habit, good or bad, so you can see how easy it is to slip into bad habits packing lunch boxes. So here’s to a healthier way of packing great lunch box ideas! And this is why I came up with the challenge 365 lunch box ideas in 365 days. It is a big challenge. But I am up for it, if you are?
