The Gallery – In Food Heaven with Jean Christophe Novelli

June 24, 2011 by Caroline Job Leave a Comment

I think I’ve found my true love.
Food.
But not just any food.
Really good food…
Exquisite food…
Beautifully prepared, perfectly presented food…
For the first time I tried a terrine. A Smoked Salmon Terrine.

Now historically I’ve been a bit funny when it comes to jelly. You know, the jelly on pork pies… My plate is the one that normally has the jelly all dotted around the edge, carefully picked out… just like gristle and fat… My plate will always be the one that has found something…
Well, terrine is largely jelly. But being invited to a press event with all the big boys up in Covent Garden at the Boulevard Brasserie, full of foodies, you’ve just got to give it a try.
Plus with the French Chef that created it, the totally charismatic Jean-Christophe Novelli, hovering close by, asking “What d’you think?” in his silky french accent, you have to endulge. It would be rude not to.

One forkful later, I trully thought I had gone to Food Heaven.  I totally relished and savoured every single mouthful, jelly and all…
This was then totally topped off by 5 minutes alone with Jean-Christophe…
Heaven…

So for this week’s gallery post, my 3 words are “In Food Heaven!”
