Christmas Hampers – Winter Warmers

October 30, 2013 by Caroline Job Leave a Comment

It’s suddenly getting chilly, the nights are drawing in, now the clocks have gone back and Autumn is well and truly here. My thoughts turn to Christmas coming soon and what presents to get relations – Christmas Hampers – Winter Warmers. I don’t know about you, but it’s always at this time of year, that I start to think of Winter Warmers, hot cocoa, you know, sipping on a hot chocolate, maybe topped with whipped cream mixed with a chocolate stirrer or just with a plate of cookies, sitting by the fire after a long refreshing and invigorating walk with the family.

My thoughts turn to Christmas presents, just as the Christmas goodies start to appear in the shops, and adverts appear on the TV, and I start to ponder what would make the perfect gift this Christmas. I find it gets harder each year to find that “something” that will make the perfect gift, particularly for adults. But being a bit of a foodie, I find foodie goodies are always well received. It’s that treat, that little luxury that you are unlikely to purchase for yourself. So I got browsing on the John Lewis website, always a good source of inspiration, and searched through their Christmas hampers selection. They have every price point covered, so whatever your budget, you really can find something, starting from £40 right up to their £800 Hamper Extravaganza!

Now as Winter Warmers are a favourite of mine, I stumbled across this Winter Warmer Hamper basket. It’s perfect for a couple loving hot drinks at every meal time mixed with treats. It includes coffee for the morning, hot chocolate for after that Winter walk, and mulled wine and minced pies for the early evening. Then the bottle of Merlot Italiano to accompany your dinner.
Now what I really like about the list of goodies, is you can really achieve that decadent hot chocolate, with the marshmallows, the chocolate stirrer, the nougat, the shortbread biscuits, the truffles – Chocolate Heaven!

The lined wicker hamper basket even includes the two glass and metal mugs, so you can make your special winter warmer treat! And if you don’t have that flickering fire, you do get a special winter berries scented candle so you can re-create a twinkly tea!

And remember, once all the goodies are consumed, you can still use the wicker basket for your picnics next summer!
